    Job Description Summary

    Roles within Dispatch are responsible for all dispatch and utility operations, relating to scheduled maintenance and emergency response. This includes monitoring work and processes throughout the day and responding to gas leaks/emergencies within defined time parameters. The team is responsible for demand forecast planning and working resource management. Compliance and customer interaction are also a focus of the overall functions.

    Essential Functions

    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Supervising day-to-day activities for a team of semi-skilled employees (e.g., assemblers, operators, clerical staff) and support individual contributors (e.g., technicians, designers, support personnel).
    • Prioritizing and assigning technical resources internally and externally
    • Ensuring the successful and timely completion of task, objectives, and team project goals
    • Coordinating with other supervisors and teams to meet area work and output requirements
    • Coaching team members on task and skill proficiency and performance with managers guidance
    • Advising units or sub-units as required, to meet and maintain schedules, resolve problems, assign task, and review work status at frequent intervals

    It is expected that your decisions will impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of your own team and may impact closely related teams through quality of output and service provided.

    Required Skills

    • Solid understanding of the processes, procedures, and systems to produce high-quality work on standard problems within the discipline
    • Utilization of analytical skillset to solve moderately complex problems and consider the relative value of alternative solutions before making recommendations for a path forward
    • Ability to network with senior internal and external peers in own area of expertise

    Required Background

    • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • In addition, a minimum of 1 year of team lead/coaching experience is required
    • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
