JOB SUMMARY AND MISSIONThe selected candidate will be responsible for the successful end-to-end technology implementation and project management of Project RIO, which unlocks retail and supply chain as well as technology value delivering transformational Retail, Inventory, and Ordering technology solutions that meet our business needs.
This senior program management office position contributes to Starbucks' success by working cross-functionally with Corporate Technology teams across Retail Ops and Global Supply Chain on program planning, roadmap development, and project delivery to help deliver the next Transformation for Starbucks.
The successful candidate must be a well-rounded leader who can drive and sustain collaboration with Starbucks stakeholders across both Technology and Business, especially within challenging and ambiguous areas.
The candidate must be an experienced, self-starter program manager, who works both independently and very collaboratively with others, is comfortable coming into a role with an existing cross-functional team, possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and consistently provides team members with clear direction through effective delegation and clear priorities.
Must be comfortable with delivery through the complete project lifecycle, from analysis and design to development and test, deployment, and closure.
Must proactively identify and manage issues, risks, and change control processes especially across the program and between projects. The technology program manager must have strong oral and written communication.They must be comfortable presenting and leading through challenging conversations with all audiences, including individual contributors, team members, managers, directors, and VP+ stakeholders.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Project RIO unlocks retail and supply chain as well as technology value delivering transformational Retail, Inventory, and Ordering technology solutions that meet our business needs.
Retail inventory tracking at the product level
Seamless SKU transitions without store partner interactions
Dynamic updating of product assortments by trade area
Real-time inventory transaction processing and product life cycle tracking
Automatic pivot of product fulfillment between SKUs and DCs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the implementation of automated, customer-centric, and frictionless store partner experiences, including retail inventory tracking at the product level, seamless SKU transitions, store-to-store order transfers, dynamic product assortment updates, Auto D86, and enhanced financial accounting.
Lead dynamic supply chain operations with flexibility and resiliency, overseeing real-time inventory transaction processing, automatic fair share allocation, automatic pivot of product fulfillment, seamless SKU transitions, simplified item ranging, and support for Beverage automated ordering.
Implement innovative solutions with a stable long-term technology foundation, supporting mobile and web user experience customization, reducing technology maintenance costs, supporting enterprise transformation to the cloud, improving core data management processes, and modernizing revenue and inventory accounting within financial systems.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Technology teams across Retail Ops and Global Supply Chain on program planning, roadmap development, and project delivery.
Proactively identify and manage issues, risks, and change control processes, ensuring smooth program execution and alignment with Starbucks' business goals.

Expert-level knowledge of standards and practices project and program lifecycle management activities and deliverables.
A clear understanding of project technical activities, including solution analysis and design, enterprise, solution, and infrastructure architecture, engineering and systems integration, data conversion and migration, environment management and build processes, deployment planning, and execution.
Business domain knowledge and experience in inventory management practices and retail processes.Expertise in project budget management (forecasting and financial reporting).
Advanced skills in the MS Office Product Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 12 years experience as a technology project manager, with at least three years in a software development setting and as a program manager.
Demonstrated experience in road mapping for a program of multiple projects and leading multiple project managers and scrum masters.
Experience with inventory planning and management systems and/or retail/restaurant-facing applications is preferred.
Strong preference for candidates with extensive experience working on complex, integrated platforms.
Strong preference for candidates with a background in Agile.
A bachelor's Degree required; a Master's Degree is desired, but not required. Strong preference for candidates with a degree in Information Systems,
Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management.
PMP certification is a plus but not required.
ACP/SCM certification is a plus but not required.
