    Job Description Sr Associate Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations **Description**

    **The Senior Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations is responsible for oversight, collaborative planning and coordination of a comprehensive stewardship and donor relations program for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Temple Health.

    Working in the Temple Health Office of Institutional Advancement (THIA), the Senior Associate Director collaborates with a broad range of advancement colleagues to manage, execute and assist with donor relations, recognition and stewardship projects, providing project management and expertise to advance programs and projects that strengthen donor confidence, enhance the donor experience, and increase donor satisfaction and retention.

    The successful candidate is a creative problem-solver who demonstrates a thorough understanding of donor relations and stewardship principles and possesses a working knowledge of fundraising and advancement services functions.

    **Essential Functions of Position:**

    ** Drives strategy and direction for a stewardship program.

    Develop and implement personalized stewardship strategies for major donors

    Produce engaging donor reports in collaboration with physicians and researchers.

    Support the planning and execution of recognition events for donors to further affinity among all constituents.

    Serve as point of contact with donors and advancement staff on fund management and processes related to gifts, gift agreements, funds, reporting, and acknowledgments.

    Lead donor recognition projects, including portraits, plaquing and digital recognition activities.

    Manage scholarship donor reporting cycle and personalized stewardship process for scholarship donors, including programming support for a signature scholarship event.

    Coordinate and drive comprehensive annual donor financial reports.

    Support fund and gift troubleshooting for donors in consultation with University and Health System partners (units, gift administration, Finance, Student Financial Service) to resolve donor/fund issues.

    Provide writing and communication support, including drafting high-level acknowledgments, impact reports, and other donor relations communications pieces.

    Manage and execute annual stewardship calendar

    Generate financial reporting in response to ongoing donor and fundraiser inquiries.

    Establish, implement, evaluate, maintain, and educate THIA staff about donor-centric policies, best practices, processes for quality control and enhanced donor experience.

    Manage other projects and duties as assigned.**

    **Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    Remain current on donor relations best practices, including new donor relations trends, donor recognition tools and stewardship principles.

    Knowledge of fundraising and advancement services functions.

    Comfortable working with sensitive or confidential information in a professional manner.**

    **Required Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of experience working in donor relations/stewardship, preferably in a higher education setting. Equivalent experience in advancement services, fundraising, alumni engagement or advancement communications may be considered.**

    **Required skills and abilities:

    Fluency with financial documents, database creation and management, financial record- keeping, and demonstrated proficiency in Banner or an equivalent development database is required.

    *Excellent writing, project management and interpersonal and communications skills, and skill in problem solving and using judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact.

    *Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work

    *Demonstrated track record of successful stewardship initiatives.**

    **Preferred:

    *Ability to analyze results and make recommendations for improvement

    *Demonstrated proficiency in Banner or equivalent development database**

    **This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.**
