    Overview:

    The Therapy Technician responsibility is to assist the Therapist in the treatment and care of the patient. The Therapy Technician, non-licensed personnel, that works under the direct supervision of the licensed therapist and provide non-skilled supportive services to the patient. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning patient treatment areas (mat tables and equipment), assisting in observing patient treatments providing support to the therapist, transporting patients to appropriate treatment areas, instructing patients in non-skilled therapeutic activities, conferring with licensed personnel concerning patient safety and response to treatment. The Therapy Technician will receive on-the-job training and must be fully competent in all performed duties. The Therapy Technician does not replace skilled physical and occupational therapy.

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to seek and accept direction and clarification from others
    • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
    • Knowledge of basic computer skills
    • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information
    • Should possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task effectively
