    The Visiting Nurse Association is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to work with our Indian River County Home Health Division.

    Under the order of the physician, the Occupational Therapist assumes primary responsibility for providing skilled occupational therapy and health teaching to patients and their significant others in the home setting.


    Responsibilities:

    • Administer treatments as prescribed by the physician.
    • Observe patient's condition to monitor response to treatment.
    • Counsel and teach patient and their significant others to accomplish goals.
    • Conduct occupational assessment/histories to determine health problems and level of functional ability.
    • Establish and follow care plan which addresses problems requiring intervention.
    • Formulate appropriate discharge plans.
    • Meet with Therapy Scheduler on a regular basis.
    • Maintain clinical records according to agency, state and federal guidelines.
    • Assist in preparation of home health aides assignments and provide guidance to aides when applicable to occupational therapy.
    • Attends case conferences on an as needed basis.
    • Participate in inservice educational programs.
    • Provide supervision to licensed occupational therapy assistants.

    Qualifications:
    Must hold current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Florida
    One year occupational therapy experience.
    Home Health experience highly desired
    lymphedema certification preferred
