    SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

    The Senior Manager, Quality, will be responsible for the oversight of the EPC Contractor during the execution of the Rio Grande LNG project (Project or RGLNG), ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices across all EPC stages including, construction, commissioning and startup.

    This position will ensure all parties comply with the established quality control systems, monitoring compliance and contractual obligations throughout the Project lifecycle.


    LOCATION
    This position is located in Brownsville, TX with business trips to Houston corporate offices as required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Drive best-in-class Quality through construction, commissioning, and startup phases of the RGLNG project.

    Lead a team in monitoring all quality activities of the EPC contractor and deliver the Project in accordance with contractual agreements, policies, and established quality standards.

    Identify and manage Quality related risks that may impact the integrity of the Project.
    Provide inputs to the Management of Change process.
    Establish and monitor Project Quality KPIs and KBAs.
    Provide coaching and training to project team and QA/QC personnel.
    Function as subject matter expert for any items related to Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
    Ensure EPC contractor establishes effective preservation techniques to ensure procured equipment is maintained prior to installation.
    Support quality assessments and audits to ensure adherence to quality management system, identify gaps and initiate corrective actions.

    REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum experience required
    15+ years' experience in QA/QC positions, demonstrating leadership roles, career progression, on major oil & gas capital development projects.
    10+ years experience in EPC phase of major oil and gas projects.
    5+ years experience in LNG liquefaction projects.
    Expertise in developing and executing quality management systems, quality plans, work procedures and inspection plans.
    Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required
    Leadership experience with large teams, enforcing best industry standards, procedures, and engineering work processes.
    Expertise in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDE inspection and general construction activities.
    In depth knowledge of industry codes and standards such as from ANSI, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, API, and 49 CFR.
    Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate challenging subjects at various levels of the organization.
    Decision maker with ability to think innovatively to offer practical solutions while achieving targeted risk profile.
    Fluent in Spanish (preferred).
    Required education
    Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
    Preferred education
    Professional certifications AWS CWI, Certified Quality Engineer, or related Quality Management Certificate
