- Complete tasks associated with CEQA, California Coastal Act, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinates with local, state, and federal resource and regulatory agencies, including the California Coastal Commission (CCC) and local coastal programs administered by various cities and counties, to determine permitting and regulatory requirements for projects.
- Advise clients on how to implement comply with the requirement of the local coastal program (LCP) planning and coastal development permit (CDP)
- Prepare, process, and review environmental documents, including project descriptions, permit applications, and permit amendments as needed.
- Interpreting aerial photographs and mapped information
- Research permit requirements, attend agency meetings, attend trainings, workshops, and conferences to stay up on the latest coastal land use plans and zoning ordinances.
- Collaborate with staff, agencies, clients, and other project collaborators to facilitate permit submittals and schedules.
- Synthesize and communicate permit stipulations and requirements to client.
- Track and organize permit processes and status.
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental's culture of safety and employee ownership.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
- Position may require some outside travel.
- B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) in environmental planning and/or a closely related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of CEQA and/or Coastal Act
- 6 – 8 years of applicable work experience
- Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines.
- Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy
- Ability to interact and coordinate with state, federal, local, and tribal agencies.
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other vendors.
