    Role Description

We represent clients in complex residential and commercial transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing matters. We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal who can operate with a high degree of independence, precision, and judgment.

This role is best suited for a professional who is accustomed to managing transactions end-to-end, understands the nuances of title and closing practice, and takes pride in producing clean, accurate work product in a fast-moving environment. This is not an entry-level role - we are looking for someone who understands the full lifecycle of a transaction and can take ownership of deals with minimal supervision.

    Qualifications

3+ years of substantive real estate paralegal experience, including commercial transactions

Demonstrated experience handling title commitments, policy issuance, and curative work

Working knowledge of ALTA forms and endorsements

Experience managing escrow and closing funds

Proven ability to manage transactions with minimal supervision

    Core Responsibilities

    Transaction Oversight

    • Independently manage real estate transactions from contract through post-closing
    • Maintain control of timelines, critical dates, and deliverables across multiple active files
    • Serve as a primary point of coordination among clients, lenders, brokers, surveyors, and title companies

    Title & Due Diligence

    • Review and analyze title work, including commitments, exceptions, and supporting documents
    • Identify and resolve title issues with efficiency and sound judgment
    • Prepare title commitments and pro forma policies, including applicable endorsements
    • Coordinate and track all curative matters through resolution

    Closing & Escrow

    • Prepare and review closing documents, settlement statements, and loan packages
    • Manage escrow funds with accuracy and accountability
    • Coordinate and facilitate closings, ensuring all conditions are satisfied
    • Oversee proper execution, recording, and disbursement

    Post-Closing

    • Issue final title policies and confirm recording
    • Deliver complete and organized closing packages
    • Ensure files are fully reconciled and closed with no loose ends
    Professional Attributes
    • Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership over your files
    • Able to prioritize and manage multiple transactions without sacrificing quality
    • Communicates clearly, professionally, and proactively
    • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in resolving issues
    • Comfortable working directly with attorneys and sophisticated clients
    Preferred Experience
    • Commercial transactions (multi-family, retail, development, or financing)
    • Mississippi real estate practice
    • Familiarity with SoftPro Select
    • Notary Public

This position requires a high level of accountability and attention to detail; candidates who prefer heavily supervised or administrative-only roles will not be a fit.
