    Overview
    Payment - $19.00 per hour
    Working Hours - Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

    Essential Responsibilities:
    1. Conduct substance abuse counseling and recovery skills training; facilitate offender orientation, educational, and counseling sessions in accordance with program standards and policies.
    2. Screen and evaluate offenders for potential program enrollment.
    3. Perform thorough evaluations using valid assessment tools to determine recovery needs and re-offense risks of offenders.
    4. Develop Individual Treatment Plans based on offender severity and characteristics identified through assessments and interviews.
    5. Maintain accurate records of offenders and services provided, including compiling necessary data and submitting reports.
    6. Act as a liaison for participants attending training programs and workshops.
    7. Create and implement follow-up and aftercare plans for offenders post-program participation; provide information on community resources for continued support.
    8. Prepare Individual Progress Summaries for each offender in caseload upon program completion, reflecting evaluation outcomes and participation quality.
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
    • Current registration as a Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) or Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP-A) certification approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
    • Obtain Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license or Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) certification within five years of registration as Counselor Intern or CCJP-A.
    • Hold a valid Texas driver's license, unless waived by management.
    • Completion of Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) before inmate interaction.
    • Successful fulfillment of TDCJ approved annual background and in-service requirements. Maintain Counselor Intern or CCJP-A status for continued employment.
