    The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Marketing Intern with the Marketing Division located in the Boise office.

    The intern will provide support to the international marketing program.
    WUSATA (Western United States Agricultural Trade Association) provides funding to hire an international intern. The intern must be a student.

    International marketing responsibilities to include assisting with inbound and outbound trade mission preparations, trade policy and market research, and other export-oriented events and programs.

    SPECIAL NOTIFICATION:

    This non-classified position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.

    Duration:

    This position will last for roughly 12 weeks through the end of the spring '24 school semester, with the option to extend an additional 12 weeks through the end of summer.


    Hours:

    This position will be part-time during the spring semester (averaging 20 hours per week), with the option of increasing to full time hours in the summer (up to 40 hours per week).

    Hours may vary dependent on the amount of work available for the intern.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assist with international activities, including:

    • Trade policy research
    • Outreach and database management
    • Market research
    • Inbound and outbound trade mission preparations
    • Export workshops and seminars
    • Recruitment materials for promotions and events
    • Promotional announcements
    • Idaho Trade Office Manager visits

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Junior or senior college standing in the spring of 2024 or may be enrolled in graduate classes. The applicant MUST be a student during the beginning of the internship.
    • Pursuing/obtained a degree in International Business, Marketing, Business or International Relations
    • Ability to market oneself and one's ideas
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Self motivated
    • Creative and resourceful
    • Basic understanding of business fundamentals, needs and development
    • Strong market research ability
    • Demonstrated skills in follow through on multiple tasks and willingness to step in and assist whenever needed
    • Dress and conduct oneself with professionalism while representing WUSATA and ISDA
    • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
