    Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a full-time, tenure track or non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.


    The successful candidate will:

    contributes to, and/or directs the development and delivery of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology curriculum in foundational and systems-based courses.

    Collaborates with faculty in other departments to provide a highly integrated curriculum.

    Provides instruction using various methods of content delivery, including large and small group discussions, team-based learning, case-based learning, and other interactive approaches.

    Participates in the writing of exam questions based on COMLEX-USA and USMLE styles. Maintains scholarly activities, including application for research grants, dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and conference attendance. Mentors research projects involving participation from osteopathic medical students. Acts as a faculty advisor and participate in selection of students. Participates in university and college committee services. Performs other duties as assigned by the chair of the department.
    Educational Requirements for the Position
    A PhD, DO, MD or equivalent terminal degree in a related field from an accredited university is required.
    Experience Required for the Position
    At least two years of teaching experience to medical students is required.

    Preference will be given to a candidate who has teaching experience at an osteopathic medical school and understanding of integrating osteopathic principles into curriculum development.

    Good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and congenially with all faculty is required. Leadership skills and vision for enhancing the academic components of a multi-disciplinary department are essential.
    Other Requirements for the Position
    Candidate should present a plan for scholarly activity, including publications and presentations. Commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
