- Leads design, configuration and administration of all network infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the network from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Perform preventative network maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and backups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of network systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in networking.
- Configure, monitor, and optimize network settings to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
- Evaluate current infrastructure and recommend "best practices" for improvements.
- Configure, install and troubleshoot network technologies, such as routers, switches, firewalls.
- Troubleshoot voice systems, phones, and network protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, BGP).
- Create and maintain documentation including diagrams, configurations, policies and procedures.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Prioritize workload alongside internal Technical Support Specialists.
- Engage with external consultants and vendors as required.
- Drive network standards and provide feedback to the Network Team.
- Provide after-hours On-Call support as required.
- Understanding of Network Access Control (NAC), Radius, 802.1x, AD, LDAP, DNS.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs).
- Proficiency in network security principles and technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, or other network hardware and software.
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP, NSE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
