    Essential Job Functions:

    Performs any and all of the following functions; sets cases for attorneys representing clients, sets dates of appearance and appeals for county courts; notifies concerned parties through summons of trial dates including attorneys, defendants, witnesses, jurors, and police; enters court dates, summons, warrants, citations from other departments, citizen's complaints, and all monies collected into computer; performs a variety of court duties including calling court to order, swearing in witnesses, arranging jurors, and quoting fines to judge; collaborates with city attorney on preparation of trial, no contest docket and arraignment dockets; prints dockets and compiles records of cases listed; collects and maintains records of all monies received by court; balances daily register receipts with cash received; answers multi-line telephone inquiries; scanning; provides signature, date and official court seal to all legal documents; provides assistance and information to citizens, other city departments, police officers and attorneys; types form letters.


    Other Job Functions:
    Performs other duties as required.

    Works inside in a normal office environment. Is subject to the constant noise of voices, telephones, and is exposed to dust/mites.

    Must be available to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 5:00 am - 2:00 pm, possible extended hours due to evening Court, and overtime when necessary.


    Knowledge:

    Knowledge of computer procedures; knowledge of clerical procedures and policies of the court; considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; some knowledge of traffic and misdemeanor laws and their prospective fines preferred.


    Skills/Abilities:

    Ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to perform mathematical and accounting computations accurately; ability to maintain complete and complex records, and prepare reports from them; ability to type and perform data entry and multi-task with high degree of accuracy; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, court officials, attorneys and the public; 10-key adding machine and computer terminal; bilingual preferred.


    Physical Requirements:

    Constantly sees and hears; frequently files, types, writes by hand, performs data entry, uses a calculator and PC, sits, sorts, and stands; infrequently drags and lifts objects weighing up to 25 lbs.


    Education/Experience:

    Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by advanced training in office/clerical procedures; minimum three (3) years experience in clerical work including data entry for centralized computer, cashiering, computer operations, and computer service; experience with court procedures and with personal computers preferred.

    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365 preferred. Able to navigate through window based software. Must pass typing test of 40-45 wpm.

    Skills tests will be administered. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
