    DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION
    This position will be assigned to the Community Cat Coordinator.

    Identifying cats that are eligible for trap, neuter and return, transporting them to and from surgery, and releasing them back to their homes, will be the primary duties of the position.

    Skill in communicating with residents about the program will be mandatory.


    JOB SUMMARY


    This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019.

    This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.


    This position is located in the Animal Welfare Division of the Development Services Department within the City of Oklahoma City.

    This position uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence.

    Licenses, certifications and/or relevant experience and education in the assigned program specialty are typically required prior to assuming this position.

    The employee selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures to more qualified staff.


    Typical duties may include:

    assisting in a variety of departmental projects or programs; handling and adjusting complaints; and providing technical assistance or support to professional staff.

    This position may also provide specialized services in support of planned departmental programs and activities on a temporary or contract basis.


    Job assignments may include:

    Performing as Volunteer Program Coordinator, Animal Welfare Foster and Transfer Program Assistant, Veterinarian Assistant, and Police Victim Services Assistant; providing hazard abatement assistance and support and technical support for utility billing functions; performing functions involving GIS drafting, mapping, and graphic design; work order and inventory control; marketing and communications; hazard abatement and oil and gas, storm shelter and fence inspections; installing communications equipment/mobile devices; completing environmental field work and paperwork; and researching and assisting with writing plans and standard operating procedures.

    The necessary skills, knowledge and ability and/or licenses and certifications to perform departmental specific tasks are typically acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position.

    This position requires you to be at least 18 years old at the time you make application.

    This position will work no more than 29 hours per week.

    Pay Method:
    City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.

    Background Investigation, Drug Testing,

    Physical Examination:

    Upon a conditional offer of employment/acceptance of position, the City of Oklahoma City will conduct a criminal history background check for external applicants.

    If the position accepted includes a driver license (commercial or non-commercial) Job Requirement, the City of Oklahoma City will obtain a Motor Vehicle Report for internal and external applicants.
