- The Cost Control Analyst's primary role is to work closely and provide support to Project Managers to ensure all budgeting and scheduling is within scope, schedule, and budget
- The Cost Control Analyst will be responsible for working within all stages of the Project Management lifecycle
- This position is a combination of Controller and Financial Analyst on a team which provides Controller support to capital-based projects along with Portfolio Analysis to focus on the overall Portfolio Health
- Must have experience with using MS Excel for analysis and graphing
- This position is Remote, with occasional onsite work as needed, in Phoenix, AZ
- Gather, review, analyze, and evaluate operational metrics to measure success and effective adherence as well as overall execution health against baselined plan, scope, and budget
- Ensure all projects administered by the PMO adhere to the best practices and standard approaches for program and project management
- Monitor and analyze project budgets, which includes planning, controlling, and forecasting
- Coordination, support, and maintenance necessary to ensure the proper and effective functioning of the IT Organization's financial planning process, portfolio health, and overall financial health and acumen
- Provide analytical, accounting, compliance, forecasting and financial education/reporting for the entire IT Organization
- Analyze spend data, manage Long Range Forecasts, review budgets, and optimize IT investments
- Identify process improvement opportunities, gaps, data analysis, work process design, workflow, and technology solutions to streamline, automate, or improve processes
- Manage projects/teams by resolving issues and prioritizing work to ensure timely resolution of problems as well as ensure customer satisfaction
- Create and maintain project reporting from development to completion of projects
- Apply the best practices of Total Cost Management in the planning, execution, and management of projects and programs in compliance with Project Management as well as Financial processes and procedures
- 5+ years of experience with Cost Control, Project Control, or Project Management
- Must have experience with using MS Excel for analysis and graphing
- Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, or other Cost Control tools is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business is preferred; equivalent real-world work experience will be considered
- Information Technology/Utilities/Oil & Gas/Energy industry experience is preferred
- CCP/CEP/CPA/CSM/PMP Certifications are a plus
- Strategic and thought leadership arm supporting the CIO and business agenda as well as the execution teams delivering services and efficiencies within the PMO
- Drives the modernization of Digital Services, such as Cloud, Advanced Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Management, and Data Governance
