    • About the role
    • At Professional Tree Care, our Climbers serve as the field-based leaders to their own crews. They direct production, work with customers, communicate with Project Managers, heavy equipment operators, grounds people, operations managers, and, of course, they climb on a daily basis.
    • Requirements
    • You LOVE climbing trees and working outside
    • Climbing experience = minimum of two years; increased hourly rate for certifications and deep knowledge of climbing and the arboricultural industry
    • Clean CA driver's license without points
    • Physically fit and unafraid of heights; able to handle chainsaws at distances between 20' and 90' in the air, on average
    • Able to pass a physical exam, background check, and able to lift 40 pounds
    • Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
    • Bonus points for safety training experience and/or leadership coursework
    • Pay rate will be based primarily on your knowledge, tree-related experience, supervisory experience, and certifications including ISA Certified Tree Worker, TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional or Certified (Climbing) Arborist
    • The work you'll do
    • Service as our Top Climbing Foreperson by climbing trees using a variety of climbing systems
    • Lead and mentor a team of junior-level climbers and grounds people
    • Provide top-notch service to our customers including pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
    • Ensure that work is done safely and efficiently on every job while meeting daily production numbers
    • Remove hazardous trees as outlined in our contracts
    • Work alongside our Certified Arborists/Estimators to ensure you're installing cables, bracing systems, and lightning protection systems as outlined in our contracts
    • Working with our Human Resources & Training folks to confirm you and your team are trained, and meet compliance, safety, OSHA and other requirements including sexual harassment, safe driver training
    • Oversee the maintenance of the tools and equipment used on your jobs including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, trucks, harnesses, and other vital equipment

    • This is a full-time, permanent position that will report to our Richmond-based yard. After 90 days of employment, you'll be offered these benefits and perks:

    • Signing Bonus: Up to $2,000.00
    • The winning candidate who earns this position will be paid a signing bonus based on their match to the role. The bonus is taxable and will be paid in one's first payroll/paycheck. Details to be provided in your interview.
