    Job Description

    A global manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Technician to support a project at two of their R&D sites.

    This individual support a project to deploy network security appliances (firewall) in their Lab and R&D environment and will be responsible for the end-user computer migration to the Connected Labs environment.

    They will partner closely with other technicians onsite and the end users during the migration to determine scheduling, maintenance, and support.

    Additionally, they will maintain documentation related to PC inventory, support related issues, and resolutions.

    This is an immediate, 2-3 month contract and requires 5 days a week onsite at their plants in Midland, MI and Auburn Hills, MI (will complete one site at a time).


    Day to Day responsibilities:
    Configure of the Lab/Analytical Computers to operate in the new environment:
    Physical Connection to firewall
    Configure IP Addresses
    Map Network Drives as needed
    Adding/Updating links to external network sources
    Creating Local User Account and group assignments
    Remote Desktop Configuration
    Profile & Data Migration as needed
    Test and Validate PC Operation

    Skills and Requirements

    • 5+ years of IT support experience (end user, desktop)
    • Experience with Microsoft operating systems: Windows XP/7 & Windows 10.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office software
    • Office 2010, 2013 Office36
    • Strong hardware support experience
    • PC's, printers, scanners
    • Basic understanding of Network support and maintenance
    • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and documentation skills
    • Excellent customer support skills and the ability to interface with technical and nontechnical teams
    • Ability to work independently as needed
    • Desktop/ IT support experience in a Lab or R&D environment
    • Understanding of Firewalls
    • Server and desktop integrated applications knowledge null
