- The Biomedical Equipment Intern performs operational verification, preventive maintenance and corrective repair service, and completes all associated documentation and communication in a timely manner under the tutelage of a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
- Assists with preventive maintenance of medical equipment as directed and supervised.
- Assists with repair of medical equipment as directed and supervised.
- Documents services performed as directed.
- Performs other duties as instructed and supervised.
- Education
- Enrollment in an accredited, Bio-Medical associated technical or degree program required.
- Work Experience
- None required. Coursework related to the scope and duties outlined above preferred. Sophomore or above standing preferred.
- Certification/License
- None required.
- Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, squatting, kneeling and lifting ability up to 75 lbs. Good eyesight and a steady hand, perform under stress.
- May come in contact with patients.
Will encounter unpleasant conditions and exposure to heat, cold, noise, dirt, inclement weather, chemicals and gases, water, fumes, overhead pipes, infectious disease or hazardous waste.
Some overnight travel may be required for training purposes. -
