    Description

    Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) is seeking Full Time Unarmed Detention Officers to work in Carlsbad, NM. We are a team of outstanding professionals committed to delivering exceptional results.

    Responsibilities

    • Search, process, safeguard, and escort detainees.
    • Exercise surveillance and control over detainees and maintain order and discipline.
    • Attend to the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day.
    • Makes official entries in assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete.
    • Enforce rules and regulations of the detention facility.
    • Provide care, custody, and control of detainees.
    • Remove detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures.
    • Guard detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care, and when performing other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • US citizen.
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • Must have resided in the U.S. for the last three years and must maintain current/physical residency in the continental United States.
    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • Bachelor's degree considered in lieu of experience.
    • Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
    • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
    • Speak, read, write, and understand English.
    • Pass a medical examination, all pre-employment/random drug tests, and meet health requirements.
    • Possess a valid state driver's license.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.
