We are currently searching for an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support our Carolinas Region located in Raleigh NC.To be considered for this position applicants must have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent The successful candidate will have experience in conducting field inspections and preparing inspection reports Work will be statewide based on assignments and needs of NCDOT and will require traveling for out of town assignments What You ll Be Doing Advanced level in depth safety inspection work as the Team Leader of a 2 man bridge inspection team that conducts inspection on all types of structures in North Carolina Work in an outside environment at considerable heights exposure to snakes spiders insects and poisonous plants Safety shoes will be required as a condition of employment Responsible for carrying out in depth inspections on bridges light standards culverts pipes sign supports overhead walkways and preparation of reports detailing conditions found during the inspection process These reports are used in an evaluation process that determines the structural integrity and the capability of structures to support loads imposed on them by the traveling public or natural forces Training new inspectors scheduling plans the teams activities conformance with bridge priorities Leading a team of inspectors in the field during inspections Scheduling coordinating inspections personnel vendors stakeholders maintenance traffic Operating access equipment other equipment perform inspections What You Need To Have The successful candidate will have experience conducting field inspectioins preparing report candidates should possess strong working knowledge NBIS advanced writing communication skills Must have NBIS Bridge Inspection Course NHI Safety Inspection In Service Bridges course Refresher Training within last years Minimum years service qualified NBIS Team Leader NHI Fracture Critical Techniques Steel Bridges Instruction Maintenance Ancillary Highway Structures Courses preferred but not required EIT P.E license preferred but not require Strong knowledge NBIS advanced writing communication skills Basic knowledge Microsoft Office Ability pass pre employment drug screening ensure safe productive work environment Volkert adheres federal guidelines may include testing substances such marijuana Please note federal regulations differ from state specific guidelines If applicable position post offer fit duty evaluation ensure individual can safely perform essential functions role Valid driver s license A satisfactory motor vehicle report MVR Why Volkert Volkert employee owned Top design firm committed providing clients creative solutions sustainability including improvements infrastructure environment natural resources Founded celebrating century serving employees clients partners communities At we pride ourselves providing competitive compensation positive work life balance professional development opportunities fostering diverse inclusive workplace offices nationwide Key Benefits Employee Stock Ownership Plan ESOP Medical Dental Vision retirement savings plan employer matching Paid Time Off PTO holidays Employer Paid Life AD insurance Employer Paid short term disability long term disability Wellness incentives Student Debt Retirement Match Additional voluntary benefits
