    Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) Job Description

    Perform magnetic resonance imaging equipment operation, ensuring accurate images for physician interpretation and patient care preparation and safety.


    • Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures with patient reassurance and support.

    • Screen patients for MRI safety and correctly interpret doctor instructions.

    • Position patients for MRI scans, using immobilization and protective equipment.

    • Assist radiologists with procedure performance, start IVs, and administer contrast media.

    • Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate images, and label appropriately.

    • Load and operate power injectors, follow safety procedures, and maintain accurate patient records.


    Requirements:


    • 1 year of experience.

    • BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required.

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for long periods without difficulty.

    • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.


    Additional certifications may be required before an assignment.
