    Job Description:


    The Practice Supervisor II supervises the day-to-day functions of the department, including scheduling, orientation, and training to ensure the efficient operations of the provider practices in the portfolio.

    The Practice Supervisor II makes employment decisions, controlling the terms of employment for the employees that they supervise, including hiring, performance evaluation, and corrective action decisions.

    Scope

    This position typically supervises 9-15 FTEs.

    Job Essentials


    • Under the direction of department leadership, supervises the day to day office functions of the department including hiring, orientation, evaluation, performance management, and scheduling, serving as backup as needed. Responsible for orientation of all new staff members.
    • Compiles and prepares data in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Responsible to ensure staff are trained and held accountable for accurate patient registrations and co-pays. Effectively models interpersonal and problem solving skills to aid in the resolution of issues in a timely manner.
    • Models positive, efficient customer service. Functions as back up, as needed, for charge posting, payroll entry, reception, or other office functions, promoting positive, efficient, and effective customer service. Actively supports department customer service initiatives.
    • May supervise back-office staff and ensures timely resolution of patient concerns and requests, including prescription refill requests, surgery or procedure preauthorizations as applicable, message log response, and processing lab orders. The Practice Supervisor works to ensure efficiency in back office operations for the benefit of providers, staff, and patients.
    • Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives (i.e. CQI, TQM, Lean, 100% participation, etc.).
    Minimum Qualifications

    Demonstrated strong computer skills. Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and advanced computer applications (i.e. database and/or presentations).

    Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal relations skills.
    - and -
    Demonstrated leadership, personal and professional ethics, and an ability to inspire and motivate others required.

    Experience developing relationships with physicians.
    - and -
    Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and work independently on projects.
    - and -
    Demonstated strong negotiating skills and strong financial management skills.
    - and -
    Proven dynamic leader that is able to gain trust and respect of the physicians, staff, and peers.

    Preferred Qualifications

    General supervisory experience.
    - and -
    One year of experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic environment.
