Description

Role would include preparation/review of US federal & state partnership tax returns for marquee clients in the dynamic and expanding asset & wealth management (AWM) industry.

Required skills:

• Federal and state partnership tax return compliance including forms 1065, k-1 & k-3, 1042 etc.
• Tax adjustments relevant to private equity and hedge funds including wash sales, straddles, PFICS, currencies etc.
• Corporate tax compliance
• Funds & investment portfolios
• Partnership tax
• State partnership tax compliance.
• Corporate tax return compliance - domestic
• Partnership tax return compliance
• Us corporate tax compliance

• Extensive knowledge of partnership tax compliance (Form 1065, Schedule K-1, allocations, etc.)
• Familiarity with forms typical to the Asset & Wealth Management industry (AWM)
• (Schedule D, M-3, Forms 8949, 6781, 8621, 8886, 5471, 8865)
• Understanding of state tax return filing requirements - residency and state sourced income
• Ability to identify U.S. reporting obligations for foreign partnerships.
• Understanding of foreign withholding requirements for FDAP, ECI, and FIRPTA income
• Ability to identify & research complex tax issues.
• Knowledgeable of Tax Reform impact on AWM
• Familiarity with financial services industry (PE, Hedge, FoF, JV, RE - operating partnerships and JVs, REITs, or RICs/Mutual Funds) and a firm grasp of investors allocation
• Excellent time management skills & focus on on-time delivery of quality work
• Hard-working, team-player, who is able to manage both a large team with multiple ongoing projects/funds and work independently.
• Provide oversight for ongoing tax compliance activities.
• CPA/EA or licensed attorney preferred.
• Ideally a candidate with Big 4 experience
