Student Success Coach and Mentor

At City Year, an AmeriCorps program, we help students across schools succeed. Our teams provide support to students, classrooms, and whole schools to ensure students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success.

In this role as a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will focus on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle school, or high school students. You'll help these students earn academic success, improve their attendance rates, and develop positive behaviors at school. You will: Work with identified students one-on-one and in small groups
• Develop literacy skills using various learning activities tailored to student level
• Encourage assignment completion by answering student questions regularly
• Create a behavior management system for each student
• Help foster interpersonal development throughout the day using proven strategies of practice reflection repetition Collaborate with teachers team members collect record analyze monitor individual progress Review facilitated sessions data collected entered into our citywide system Support Whole School initiatives increase engagement families Conduct extended-day virtual programs before during after-school service-learning leadership
