    Description
    Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Representative
    • With minimum supervision, the Junior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Representative is responsible for promoting EHS stewardship throughout the company while inspecting and providing EHS guidance and support to the workforce.
    • Supports the development of EHS programs and projects. Ensures that the Company maintains compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
    • Promotes a Total EHS Culture of ownership and accountability for safety of all workers and protection of the environment.
    • Supports and commits to organization and Company's mission, vision, and values.
    A. Committed to the EHS mission and its vision and values, adapts and remains flexible, performs ethically and self-manages efficiently and professionally.

    B. Knowledge of ship repair or other manufacturing operations, facilities, processes and operating procedures to understand the impact that Federal, State and Local EHS regulations. C. Knowledgeable of:

    1. Applicable Federal, State and local EHS regulations (1915, 1910, EPA).

    2. Presentation techniques for EHS training.

    3. Techniques used to recognize HS hazards and environmental risks.

    4. Working with and management of hazardous materials and wastes.

    5. Ship configuration, shipbuilding techniques and operations.

    6. Safe operation of tools and machinery.

    B. Prepare written reports on inspections, accident investigations, statistical information on injuries and illnesses, employee complaints or concerns.

    G. Review current literature and trade publications in order to remain current regarding all OSHA and other applicable EHS standards and regulations.

    H. Establish a close working relationship and communicate with department/ship manager on a regular basis.

    I. Able to identify/locate various compartments on board vessels.

    J. Must be able to gain access to government facilities.

    K. Must have current driver's license.

    L. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English in both oral and written applications in order to successfully interact with management and employees.

    M. Able to think and solves problems; uses reference materials; uses organizing strategies; uses time and resources effectively.

    N. Capable interacting with others; promoting customer's satisfaction; respects diversity; resolves conflicts.

    O. Computes and reasons mathematically.

    P. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

    Local Pay Rate: 29.00
