Summary

This position is located at the Pine Ridge Service Unit, Indian Health Service, in Pine Ridge, SD. The purpose of the position is to provide physical therapy services, consultation, and education within the Service Unit.

Duties

1. Provides physical therapy in the areas of physical disabilities and a wide range of complex pathologies such as burns, strokes, amputees, spinal cord injuries and musculoskeletal and other medical, surgical and orthopedic pathologies.
2. Develops treatment plans based on general information in consult and taking into consideration patients' physical and mental conditions, cooperation and various psychological factors.
3. Evaluates and develops treatment plans for patients referred to the department by physicians, exercising independent professional judgment in planning and carrying out a treatment program to meet the patient's needs.
4. Supervises Physical Therapy staff, will ensure patient care and quality are met that are required by policies and procedures.
