The Mechanical Hardware Engineering Design team develops mechanics for the next generation of high-capacity disc drives and systems to service the ever-growing storage requirements of today's connected world.
Candidates should have an interest in applying their strong analytical and collaborative skills to solving complex mechanical design problems, validating design performance with testing, and working with a talented cross-functional team to bring these solutions to high volume production.
Job summary:
Manage a team responsible for the design development validation of innovative mechanical component assembly solutions Seagates most advanced high platter count disk drives use analytical simulation methods determine best design approach disc drive parts sub assemblies lead component factory automation teams z height alignment solutions collaborate factory supplier teams new novel design concepts factory assembly conducts feasibility studies new modified designs lead decision making process provide balance critical KPOVs including performance cost supplier friendly manufacturing Seagate assembly manufacturing requirements Seagate cleanliness requirements focus will be design manufacture cost analysis internal external teams analyze supplier Seagate manufacturing component date drive improvement develop oversee engineering level validation tests components communicate technical information writing verbal formats
