    Description:

    Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled general plumbing and sprinkler maintenance and repair work.

    Qualifications:

    High School GED or equivalent AND experience equivalent to three (3) years full-time plumbing/pipefitting, sprinkler/irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair (indoor/outdoor), or closely related work. Must possess or be able to obtain a Back Flow Prevention Certificate and MUST possess a Utah Operator's License or Utah Commercial Drivers License (CDL) at a level appropriate to the equipment operated.

    Responsibilities:

    Maintains, repairs, and installs park sprinkler systems, including operating trenchers, backhoes, and other equipment, repairing/replacing sprinkler system parts, testing/performing routine maintenance and repairs on manual and computerized sprinkler control systems and valves, and designing sprinkler programs installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, drinking fountains, and backflow control devices; prepares/maintains the ice rink; operates snow removal equipment.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics:

    Knowledge of the general principles and practices of the plumbing trade as per UPC and UBC standards.

    Knowledge of general sprinkler system design, installation, maintenance, and repair principles and practices, including the design and programming of computer controlled systems.

    Skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of plumbing fixtures.

    Skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems, including computer controlled systems.

    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff and the public.

    Skill in operating a variety of equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler systems.
