Title:
Senior Network Engineer
Location:
Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
Schedule:
Monday through Friday - onsite 1 day per week
Job Type: 6 month contract to hire - 40 hour work weeks
Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret clearance
Certification Requirement:
Active CompTIA Security+ or CISSP
Interview Process: 2 virtual rounds
Target Start Date:
ASAP Establishes, Operates and maintains digital networks to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability
Monitors and maintains network performance
Builds network configurations and connections
Troubleshoots and corrects network problems
Establishes, provisions and manages network addresses, segments and subnets
Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation
Defines, documents, and enforces network standards
Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades
Installs, configures and maintains routers, switches and other network devices
Updates data servers and network equipment
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
Maintains the network cyber security posture to include scanning and remediation of cyber vulnerabilities
Performs risk analysis to identify threats, vulnerabilities and likelihood and impact of exploitation
Performs user support and problem resolution.
Understands, follows and promotes the values and principles in the Agile Manifesto
Understands, follows and promotes continuous cyber security risk management Qualifications
Able to lead a team by identifying the work required and appropriately delegating tasks to team members.
Able to oversee work performed by others and ensure quality by identifying and correcting errors.
A Bachelor's Degree, in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline + 5 years of relevant experience all within the last 5 years.
Five (5) additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications/relevant experience may be substituted for the degree(Total 10 yrs experience) Tasks
Break/Fix support for the SE2 Network Infrastructure
Cisco equipment management through Cisco DNA
Cisco Firewalls management
Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
Cisco VPN
Manage and support commercial solution for classified (CSfC)
Maintenance and documentation of routers, switches, and firewalls
IP management
Log, review and maintenance of network logs and system audit data
Evaluation of security impacts of network changes
Compliance with STIG guidance and best industry practice for network device installations and configurations
Cross-functional team collaboration
Definition and execution of tasks based on existing or planned capabilities
Continuous metrics analysis for ongoing risk analysis and remediation planning
Assist SEC customers in connecting labs to SE2 to include but not limited to: Site survey, Assist with L1-4 connections, Request for cable installation
Documentation creation and review to include but not limited to: Network diagram, Data flow diagram, Rack diagram, Power Diagram, Hardware/Software List Documentation, How to documentation, Current configuration
Analysis and definition of future equipment needs
SE2 Service Desk Knowledge Base maintenance
Architectural documentation and implementation of network topologies
Patching/Updating existing network
Installation and provisioning of networking equipment
Resource monitoring with tools not limited to: Solarwinds and Kiwi
Documenting, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive network documentation
Development and provision of reports directed by USG
Log all work comments and work efforts in SE2 tools to include but not limited to: Jira Management and Jira Service Desk
