    The aim is to assist children with developing the skills needed to manage their mental health conditions so that they can safely transition back into a less restrictive environment, such as returning home or entering a foster home.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are completed under the supervision of a QMHP (additional information can be found in 89 Ill. Adm. Code and include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    The RSA assists in the provision of trauma-informed and evidence based, therapeutic and rehabilitative services under the supervision of a QMHP.Operate within the parameters of the agency and programs treatment model.

    Listen actively to each child and provide appropriate feedback relating to each presenting problem, providing individual or group counseling based on each situation.

    Model appropriate, safe, and prosocial behavior at all times.
    Always engage mindfully with youth when on shift.
    Counsel and teach skills to youth in treatment and properly document the same in accordance with insurance/Medicaid requirements.


    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be at least 21 years of age and demonstrate skills in the field of services to adults or children, the ability to work within agency structure and accept supervision, and the ability to work constructively with residents and other providers.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

    The RSA must also have demonstrated ability for competent English composition and verbal skills and qualify for Rehabilitative Services Associate as specified by Illinois Administrative Code.
