    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and team building for the people to understand and support company goals, policies, vision, and growth o Prioritize manufacturing's area needs and schedule projects for improvement.
    • Perform research, design & development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods & production equipment
    • Manage the successful transition of new products & technology into the production area
    • Analyze and plan equipment layouts for workflow, space requirements, and maintenance access to repair equipment
    • Develop timelines for equipment installation and equipment upgrade
    • Design, develop, test, and procure tooling & equipment
    • Work with outside vendors and tooling contractors as needed
    • Provide cost-savings data for tool tests
    • Responsible for monitoring and improving the manufacturing process and equipment
    • Update manufacturing machining production standards for producing parts
    • Perform capacity studies & time studies on equipment and process
    • Determine, monitor, and improve labor input for processes
    • Develop and improve process development & documentation of manufacturing work instructions
    • Establish operating procedures to assist in control of the production process
    • Update FMEAs, control plans, prints, and BOMs
    • Understand equipment and drive continuous improvement activities
    • Interface with Machining, Assembly, Engineering, Maintenance personnel and production departments
    • Assist personnel in troubleshooting of equipment for appropriate and cost-effective solution
    • Investigate customers concerns to resolve process related issues
    • Understand and drive organizations strategic imperatives of Supporting all GLR Initiatives

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or another related field with appropriate experience

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • CAD experience (AutoCAD and NX, Inventor, or SolidWorks a plus)
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills
    • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
    • Strong project management skills; lean and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Desired knowledge of computers, machining, and assembly practices, tools & fixtures
    • Ability to work with vendors, customers & employees at all levels of organization
    • Excellent communication and employee-relations skills
    • PLC and CNC programming a plus

    • Support all new product launches thru the change management process
    • Basic knowledge of annual operating plan
    • Maintain budget constraints on all capital projects
    • Support cost savings initiatives
    • Apply lean concepts to future state assembly operations 5S applications with P65 initiatives
    • Calculated risk assessments
    • Perform reviews of JSRA's as needed for contractors
    • Manage red tag process on all incoming assets
