    Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA)

    General Summary:

    The Business Intelligence Analyst evaluates designs, develops, and tests reports for business operations using Power BI, SSRS, and Excel. Using data analytics, visualization, statistical and data modeling techniques, identify trends and insights to inform business decisions across the organization. Manages data gathering, queries, and report writing for various projects involving multiple databases. This position automates data quality through real-time feedback to staff. The Business Intelligence Analyst consults with leadership and staff to improve data quality and analysis in the pursuit of performance excellence. Responsible for timely compliance with all Network programs and policies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develops comprehensive and insightful reports, dashboards, and data visualizations tailored and relevant to organ/tissue donation.
    • Collaborates with various departments to understand and identify their data-related needs and translate into report solutions.
    • Conceptualizes, designs, creates, and supports reports, dashboards, and visualizations in both SSRS and Power BI.
    • Extracts, transforms, and integrates data from both Relational and Key-Value Databases.
    • Creates and edits SQL queries against various databases.
    • Provides data for ad-hoc requests.
    • Develops and implements processes including but not limited to audits to ensure data integrity and consistency of critical data.
    • Administers and maintains Reporting Services and Power BI by controlling security on all reports, adding/removing users to current reports, maintaining schedules that trigger automated reports, and maintaining distribution lists.
    • Reconciles daily activities with Quality Assurance and Data Compliance.
    • Complies with Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) data requirements including processing, reporting, and follow-up.
    • Participates in continuous process-improvement.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent experience in a health-related field preferred
    • Two to four years data management experience in records, systems and procedures preferred; working knowledge of computers and software systems
    • Experience with database programs and statistical software (i.e. Access, Excel, SQL, SPSS, Databases, PowerBI etc.) is preferred
    • Requires an excellent understanding of SSRS, SQL and PowerBI.
