Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative is primarily responsible for promoting and selling construction materials and services to existing and prospective contractor customers.
We are looking for a dependable candidate with good communication skills and a drive to excel.Pay for this Role:
$70,000 - $200,000 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Learn company products, procedures, culture and customer service philosophy.
Learn proper procedures for orders, special orders, purchase orders, credit memo's and receiving.
Develops relationships with existing and potential customers through personal and phone contact, ensuring completion of plan take-offs, bids and quotes, answering questions and solving problems.
Prepares and presents accurate sales proposals and quotes to prospective or current customers.Maximizes the number of sales for existing market areas.
Provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Research and provide accurate information to customers regarding proper materials and prices as well as technical information regarding application and specifications.
Performs job-site visits to ensure delivery and timely completion.Ensures all projects generate appropriate profit margins to justify sale.
Coordinates all deliveries and credit pick-ups with yard dispatcher.
Attends activities and functions as a representative of company.
Develops process to track progress of customer's projects and monitors progress.
Desired Skills, Knowledge And Qualifications
Must have sales and industry experience.
Must be comfortable initiating contact with potential customers to generate new business.
Computer literacy.
Some knowledge of construction industry and local building codes preferred.
Previous sales experience preferred
Ability to read plans and truss layouts.
Construction background a plus.
Current driver's license, current automobile insurance and good driving record.
Self-starter with a great attitude and willingness to help others.
Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
Must be professional, personable, and detail-oriented.
