    Estimator - Commercial Construction

    Our growing client has an immediate need for an Estimator with commercial construction experience.

    Responsibilities:
    • Attend site walks and work with Subcontractors to develop scopes on all projects. Become expert with bid solicitation, estimating and takeoff software and utilize software to optimum capabilities.
    • Manage cost database and ensure unit costs are current and up to date.
    • Monitor and expand subcontractor database in all jurisdictions we are authorized to work in.
    • Thoroughly review all bid documents (plans, specs, etc.) on all assigned and reviewed projects.
    • Thoroughly review all proposals received from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
    • Prepare cost estimates on assigned projects using both unit cost and contract methods. Attend bid meetings when appropriate on assigned projects.
    • Construct and prepare all proposals to finished product for approval by Leadership Team prior to submittal.
    • Schedule and host subcontractor site meetings. Establish and cultivate relationships with subcontractors.
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum of three years of experience working as an estimator for a General Contractor with annual revenue above $50 million is preferred.
    • Excellent knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products (includes Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    • Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
    • Prior work experience in the multi-family industry and working knowledge of estimating construction jobs is preferred (reviewing, understanding, and performing take-offs on architectural plans; pricing/securing materials and building final job estimates).
    • Experience with or knowledge of Building Connected, PlanHub, On-Center OST, Bluebeam or other digital take-off or estimating software application(s) is preferred.
    • Experience in performing insurance estimates for fire, water or tornado damage using Xactimate or some other estimating software/tools is preferred but not required.
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills required. Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies is a must.
    • Candidate must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
    • Candidate must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
    Our client offers a salary of $60k - $70kplus M/D/V/ 401k.
