Lutheran Life Villages is looking for a part-time Cook at our Anthony Blvd campus. The Cook works within the Dining Services Department to prepare and serve food in sufficient quantities using standardized recipes while keeping areas and equipment clean in accordance with state/federal guidelines. The Cook works cooperatively as a valued member of the Dining Services Team assisting as needed with other aspects of the Dining Services Program.

General Statement of Duties

Prepares and serves food in sufficient quantities using standardized recipes; cleans area and equipment in accordance with state / federal guidelines.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepares items for regular, alternate, and therapeutic menus for residents, guest, home bound and staff.
• Serves attractive meals following diet orders with respect to resident's requests.
• Ensures adequate temperatures are maintained for both hot and cold foods.
• Records temperatures of food and refrigeration equipment.
• Labels dates unused food and leftovers. Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and checking dates on foods in the refrigerators.
• Cleans and restocks daily.
• Cleans equipment, washes pots and pans, sweeps floors and mops daily.
• Assumes charge duties when management is not in house.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

1. Experience:
   
   1. One year food service experience preferred.
2. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
   1. Ability to adhere to all sanitary / food service regulations.
   2. Ability to work independently.
   3. Strong interpersonal skills.
   4. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
   5. Weekend, holiday and extended shifts required.
