- Performs equipment qualification. Assist with maintenance of loaner equipment program, if applicable.
- Prepare microbiological media and buffers according to work instructions and manufacturer's directions.
- Perform lab start-up activities (incubator/waterbath temperature checks, pH meter calibrations) on a daily basis.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment per SOP descriptions.
- Adhere to GLP/ISO guidelines in daily activities.
- Help with special projects assigned by supervisor.
- Sweeps and mops floor in the lab as required.
- Help maintain and organize QC retains.
- Meet individual and departmental goals and objectives.
- Minimum High School diploma with some college science or lab experience.

Neogen is looking to hire a Laboratory Support Technician This is a full-time position available in the Center for Microbiological Excellence building. As a technician you will help support Laboratory Scientists in Technical Service and the Research & Development Laboratories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Education and/or Experience:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and other procedural documents in English. The person must be able to read computer screens in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively in front of team members and in front of other general group meetings.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform routine, college level mathematical operations, including statistical functions.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a solid knowledge of computers and OS systems as well as the ability to effectively communicate electronically. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Power Point is also required.
