**Description**

**Responsibilities:**

This position is responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land using a Commercial truck to and from Manufacturing plants and Distribution Centers.

Driver will also assist in auditing and loading of the trailers as required.

Driver will follow appropriate safety procedures in accordance with the follow both in the facility and when transporting the various types of goods. Maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.

Work directly with the Shipping Supervisor & Shipping Manager for all internal switching and shipping for the Salem and Roanoke facilities.

**Essential:**

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Organizational skills and ability to work independently

Practice and adhere to established safety rules and policies

Able to lift, lower and carry packages typically 25-50 lbs, and up to 75 lbs

Able to grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, stand for extended periods of time and walk

Basic computer skills: Email, Timecards

Detail oriented, self-starter that enjoys a fast paced team

Team player - seeks opportunities to maintain positive work environment

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Hazmat Certification due to contact with hazardous materials

**Desirable:**

Forklift experience is a plus

RF handheld experience is a plus

**Experience and Education:**

Minimum 3 years of CDL experience preferred.

Combination of experience with education.
