Description

Well Planning:

• Support and lead well planning activities and construction of relevant documents.
• Liaise with Exploration and/or Asset Geoscientists to ensure the well planning activities and documents continue to meet the target objectives.
• Primary responsibility for seismic description of the overburden, including mapping surfaces, interpreting attributes, and recommending new data or reprocessing as needed.
• Generate depth prognoses with uncertainty ranges for surfaces and faults.
• Identify potential drilling issues using seismic analysis and other available data sources.
• Work with engineers to design well paths meeting objectives and mitigating risks.
• Create pre-drill risk registers and ensure mitigation plans for geological risks.
• Assist in constructing relevant documents such as SOR and Geological Operations Plan.

Well Operations:

• Participate in daily subsurface operations meetings.
• Contribute relevant subsurface interpretations during rig calls.
• Provide support to the Operations Geologist as needed.
• Select formation tops, casing, and core points per SOR.
• Conduct real-time well ties and synthetics as necessary.

Post Well:

• Support End-of-Well Report completion and document key learnings.
• Support root cause analysis for NPT events and share learnings.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and comply with company's Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

• University Degree in geophysics, geology, or related field.
• 7-18 years of industry experience in geoscience well planning.
• Essential experience in well operations, seismic interpretation, and depth uncertainty characterization.
• Proficiency in geological and seismic interpretation; experience with Petrel is desirable.
• Experience with offshore exploration and development wells preferred.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• Skills in Seismic Interpretation, Well Analysis, Risk Assessment, and Integration.
