    Salary: $110,000 - $148,000

    We are looking for a Structural Engineer to provide design support and guidance for rail transit projects. The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset, a background in rail transit, civil, and structural engineering. This candidate will need to be committed to delivering high-quality work on a tight schedule in a multidisciplinary environment as well as experience in design, integration, and interfacing of the fixed infrastructure with transit operating systems.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Design and analyze at-grade and above-ground structures including vehicle bridges, rail bridges, retaining walls, aerial stations, and other associated structural facilities in compliance with the project design criteria using state-of-the-art engineering software and methodologies.
    • Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative solutions that meet project objectives and client requirements.
    • Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
    • Conduct structural assessments and evaluations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines.
    • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs and conducting site inspections.
    • Review and coordinate with geotechnical staff for report development and data needs for assessments of structures
    • Manage and development of cost estimates and quantity takeoffs.
    • Interface and Coordination with the owner, engineers, architects, and other third parties.
    • Prepare reports and deliver presentations.
    • Mentor junior staff members and contribute to the professional development of the team.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of CA or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
    • Structural analysis/design experience in high seismic regions.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on bridge wall and structure design.
    • Strong understanding of relevant design codes and standards, including AASHTO and Caltrans specifications.
    • Ability to review, understand, and develop designs in compliance with contract documents.
    • Ability to review, interpret, and incorporate the geotechnical data/recommendations in the design.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar programs.
    • Registered Professional Engineer in California.
    • Geotechnical analysis software skills desired but not required.
    • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software is a plus.
    • Relevant experience involving major transportation or transit projects.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • AutoCAD and Civil3D is a plus.
    • Conbox or other similar box girder structural analysis software.
    • Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Schedule, and Project
