- Follows policy and procedure for assigned patient care activities, including unit specific equipment and standards.
- Provides patient comfort by participating in tasks appropriate for unit.
- Provides for patient safety through preventative measures as determined by the unit specific requirements.
- Enters data into the computer system as applicable.
- Communicates all patient and visitor information and observations to precepting / mentoring registered nurse.
- Always reports any changes observed in the condition or behavior of patient; reports all unusual conditions or reactions to the precepting / mentoring nurse.
- Recognizes and responds to priorities in the patient care process. Responds to priorities promptly, exercise good judgement in setting priorities for activities based on unit requirements.
- Uses effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients, and interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work environment and a clean, well-stocked work area.
- Maintains patient safety for patients requiring one to one patient care observation at the discretion of the precepting / mentoring RN.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of junior year in a BSN accredited nursing program.
- Applicants must have achieved and maintained a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the university.

- Must have current AHA Basic Life Support Card.
