    SCOPE:

    The Team Leader role is integral to the success of our operations. This is an entry-level leadership position, focused on monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and personnel. Essential responsibilities include oversight of employees, scheduling of machines and production, and troubleshooting production errors or issues. We are looking for individuals with experience in manufacturing, leadership, and the ability to identify issues, find solutions, resolve conflict, and drive results under pressure. The ideal candidate will also have experience implementing Six Sigma, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of daily production, including reading prints and work orders, scheduling machines, and meeting productivity goals.
  • Perform daily walks, inspections, reviews, and audits to monitor quality and efficiency in all production areas, troubleshooting, escalating problems to the proper department (i.e. maintenance, engineering, etc.).
  • Work with various departments (i.e. engineering, quality, shipping, etc.) to evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements for production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Implement Six Sigma, Kaizen and lean manufacturing approaches throughout production with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure employee compliance is met regarding training for equipment operations/ work and safety procedures.
  • Maintain Visual Management Boards with data, such as time, production, and cost records.
  • Work in conjunction with the Training Coordinator to review your teams Skills Matrix slotting accuracy and develop cross training plans in alignment with business needs.
  • Work closely with management and employees to resolve Safety and Quality Alerts.
  • Successfully complete Team Leader - Red skills matrix tasks within 12 months and Team Leader - Yellow skills matrix tasks within 24 months.
  • Monitor and maintain communication boards throughout production facility, including updating priority lists, contributing talking points for group meetings, and providing real-time machine and order status updates.
  • Facilitate part processing for shipment.
  • Attend required meetings and training, such as daily SQDIP walks, monthly safety meetings, quarterly book readings, and participate in feedback sessions with fellow Team Leaders/Supervisors.
  • QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

    Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Integrity - Reliability, Responsibility and Accountability.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work productively with others to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, including working with individuals in varying roles and departments.
  • General computer skills, including skill in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new computer programs and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to control emotions, work effectively under pressure, and multi-task.
  • Must be a team player and willing to adapt to an ever-changing work environment and engage in continuous personal development.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • A Plus:

  • Skill or experience in ATM or Shop Floor Plus programs.
  • Experience in a Team Leader Role
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and Kaizen.
