    Description

    Senior Plumbing Design Engineer

    Lead a multi-disciplinary team in the Pittsburgh office as a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop plumbing designs for various projects, including Healthcare/Labs, Industrial, Education, Institutional, and Commercial facilities.
    • Create the following documents:
      • Project scope
      • Schedule
      • Plumbing and fire protection budget/design approach
      • Feasibility studies/project cost estimate
      • Value engineering
      • Code Review
      • Project specifications

    Key Tasks:

    • Manage project timelines and coordinate with architects, clients, and contractors.
    • Review show drawings and prepare construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems.
    • Design complex piping systems and select equipment for large-scale buildings.
    • Specify plumbing/fire protection equipment and perform quality assurance/quality control on projects.
    • Mentor and train junior staff members.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in Plumbing Design in Consulting Engineering.
    • CBD or CBDT certification required.
    • EI or PE License preferred.
    • Knowledge of local and national building codes, design practices, and industry standards.

    Desired Skills:

    • Extensive knowledge of Plumbing Codes and Uniform Plumbing Codes.
    • Familiarity with NFPA 54; National Fuel Gas Code and relevant building codes.
    • Understanding of sustainability, green building rating systems, and LEED compliance documentation.
    • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
