    We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to make an impact and contribute to the mission of empowering individuals and strengthening our community.

    Senior Accountant - CFS has teamed up with a long-established company in Portland, OR

    About the Company and Opportunity: Senior Accountant

    • Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization in Portland looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team
    • The role reports to the CFO of the company and responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting the budgeting and forecasting process.
    • The company fosters a dynamic environment with a family culture

    Overview of the role: Senior Accountant

    • Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies.
    • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations.
    • Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of required documentation
    • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Assisting with indirect cost allocation
    • Working with Grant accounting processes
    • Ad hoc/special projects as directed by the CFO

    Preferred Qualifications: Senior Accountant

    • QuickBooks Desktop experience is a must
    • Non-profit Grant Accounting experience preferred
    • Proficient in MS Office – especially Excel
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
