    Job Summary

    The Class I or II Mechanic performs general and preventative maintenance services and related repairs to machinery and equipment. Maintains annual updates for all road tractors and trailers, and ensures all equipment is checked weekly and properly documented. Consistently monitors equipment for damage and needed repairs in order to counteract potential issues. Recognizes work that requires more specialized or skilled crafts and makes recommendations to management on plan of action. The position will require performing service out in the field. This is a 2nd shift position.

    Key Responsibilities
    Perform general maintenance to machinery and equipment
    Ensure worker orders are completed timely and efficiently
    Ensure preventative maintenance schedule is consistently met
    Maintain tools and equipment, and inventory of equipment and supplies
    Maintain required records of hours/materials expended for each job
    Attend special training classes and sessions to increase skill in various crafts
    Inspect machinery for proper functioning, including checking pressures and temperatures as required
    Perform other related duties as assigned
    Education and Experience
    2 years trade or vocational school required
    3-5 years' experience working in general maintenance in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
    OSHA 10 certification and a strong working knowledge of safety in the maintenance environment, including lock-out/tag-out, PPE, etc.
    Excellent focus on safety and quality
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
    Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
    Strong trouble-shooting abilities in order to quickly determine plan of action
    Knowledge and ability to operate tools of the trade
    Willingness to learn new skills and methods
    Must be able to meet the physical requirements to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather
    Valid driver's license and clean driving record
