Job description
Summary: This role involves providing in-home therapy to help participants regain or maintain their abilities for independent living, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), range of motion, and strength. Our COTAs follow a treatment plan and established therapy guidelines to achieve these goals. This position requires home visits in the community. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.
Schedule: Casual/PRN - Minimum of 8 hours per month
Location: McKeesport, Homestead, Wilkinsburg and surrounding communities
Required Education: Successful OTA/L program completion approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Required Experience: Minimum of one year working with the frail or elder population.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Current OTA licensure issued by the state of PA.
- Valid PA Driver's License (and reliable vehicle)

- Able to demonstrate clinical competency with the geriatric population.
- Initiative and resourcefulness.
- Discretion, tact, patience, and good judgment.
- Empathetic and compassionate attitude in caring for the elderly.
- Ability to understand & carry out non-technical verbal & written directions, record messages, & keep records.
- Ability to get along well with others and gain the cooperation of participants
- Physical and emotional ability to carry out assigned tasks
- Routine work involving the personal care and program activities of participants
- Neat appearance
- Proven record of excellent attendance
- Good organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible
