    WRA is currently seeking a Mid-Level Roadway Engineer with a strong technical background to support the growth of our practice in Northern Virginia (Fairfax Office).

    Responsibilities:

    The Project Engineer will be responsible for working with a team of engineers on the planning and design of transportation projects in Virginia. Anticipated types of projects include intersection and interchange design, new roadway alignments, roadway widenings, interstate design, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities design. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, development of roadway plans and profiles, roadside evaluation and design, maintenance of traffic design, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and the development of technical reports.

    Requirements:

    Applicants must possess the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
    • 5+ years of relevant job experience related to roadway engineering (experience with VDOT preferred)
    • Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to handle multiple assignments
    • Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
