- Assures accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment and specimens
- Follows all laws and regulations in the processing and transportation of laboratory specimens
- Follows proper policy for accurate patient identification and labeling of all specimens
- Answers telephone in an polite and efficient manner
- Assists with meeting goals of department Performance Improvement initiatives
- Assures appropriate documentation of all required instrument monthly maintenance and quality control
- Stays abreast of regulatory changes
- Complies with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues

**Assures department testing, applicable to their area, is reported in an accurate and timely manner
Associate of Arts degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from a CAHEA/NAACLS accredited program; ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician, preferred within 12 months after incumbent's graduation form an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program.
Willing to consider 10 yrs of experience in a clinic or hospital laboratory in lieu of certification.Medical Laboratory Scientist students in their fourth year of study who have successfully completed a clinical rotation may be hired into PRN MLT position.
