- Conduct data-driven research to inform and support Chamber's public policy efforts.
- Create compelling, persuasive, data-driven materials to support Chamber's public policy positions. Anticipate and address responses and reactions.
- Identify and prioritize public policy issues that are important to the Chamber's membership.
- Manage research projects that support and inform the Chamber's policy agenda with limited guidance. Draft research reports and other publications.
- Present work to internal and external audiences. Represent Chamber at meetings with members, partners, and policymakers.
- Manage up to two of the Chamber's leadership councils.
- Complete ad hoc requests for research and data support.
- Act as a leading, positive influence on Chamber culture.
- Develop relationships with Chamber members, subject matter and policy experts, and other business associations.
- Perform a small amount of general administrative, programming, and other duties as assigned.
- Ability to make decisions without supervision and understand when to elevate decisions.
- Willing to meet a high standard for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with data analytics software such as Tableau or Microsoft BI.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex public policy proposals and impacts on employers.
- Experience reviewing state legislation and budgets, municipal ordinances, and agency regulations.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and share information broadly with colleagues.
- Advanced degree in public policy, data analytics, or similar field strongly preferred.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a public policy or analysis role, some of which must involve supporting and conducting public policy research.
- Ability to manage relationships and projects with multiple internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to prioritize across potentially competing objectives and timelines.
