    Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior member of the management team of Development and Alumni Relations.
  • Serve as a liaison and partner with the University's central development and alumni relations team. Work closely and collaborate with the University's central development and alumni relations team, draw on its support services and integrate the School's initiatives with the University's overall fundraising design.
  • In conjunction with the Vice Dean for External Relations establish strategic fundraising priorities and annual goals. Develop a system to regularly assess progress toward goals with the development team (gift officers and annual giving team).
  • Work closely with the Vice Dean in overall strategic planning on behalf of the department including pipeline growth, implementation and incubation of new fundraising priorities and projects, and donor engagement and stewardship of principal and transformational gifts. Create donor and priority-driven fundraising strategies with involvement by senior administrators, faculty, staff, volunteers and Board members.
  • Lead and manage a team of major gift officers (3), annual giving officers (2), and an administrative coordinator (1).
  • Establish objectives, set performance standards, and organize and motivate individuals and teams to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Assess and manage individual and team professional development needs.
  • Develop, propose and manage team-related budgets.
  • Manage, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward an active pipeline of principal and major gift prospects with an annual visit goal of 125 visits, including domestic and international development-related travel with the Dean.
  • Evaluate the overall health of the school's pool of alumni and prospects and works in conjunction with the Vice Dean on fiscal year and campaign pipelines and solicitation strategies.
  • Play an active role with the School's Board of Advisors, participating in meetings and meeting planning, activating volunteer leaders; making recommendations to the Vice Dean as to potential new candidates and participating in cultivating new candidates for Board membership.
  • Qualifications –

  • Bachelor's degree required with Master's Degree highly regarded
  • Minimum 7 to ten years of fundraising or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to motivate individuals and teams to their best performance.
  • Ability to develop sophisticated principal gifts, major gifts and annual giving strategies and to recruit, train and move volunteers to a desired action
  • Demonstrated success in program development and management
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a goal oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Occasional overnight travel and some evening and weekend work
  • Valid driver's license required

    Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
