    To: All Interested Persons

    Bonneville County is now accepting applications for the following position:

    Position: Weed Sprayer, Temporary/Seasonal (Multiple)

    Starting Salary: $14 - $16

    Work hours: Approximately 40 hours per week from April through November (weather dependent).

    Closing Date: Posting will close June 2, 2024, or when filled, whichever comes first.

    GENERAL PURPOSE

    Perform a variety of full performance duties as needed to help control noxious weeds throughout Bonneville County.


    SUPERVISION EXERCISED

    None.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Perform herbicide and Pesticide applications.
    • Cleanup vehicles, spray equipment and county property.
    • Basic maintenance of vehicles, spraying equipment.
    • Operating and maintaining roadside spray trucks and equipment.
    • Mixing and loading spray equipment.
    • Digging and pulling plants.
    • Backpack spraying on remote sites.
    • Weed trimming and mowing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Basic math.
    • Basic Computer/ iPad Skills.
    • Ability to work individually without supervision or as a team.
    • Ability to obtain a Professional applicator license (if 18 or older).
    1. Special Qualifications:
    • Must possess a valid Idaho Driver's License.
    • Must own a sturdy pair of hiking boots.

    1. Work Environment:

    Most work is performed outdoors and may include adverse weather conditions. Hazards involving the use of spraying equipment, hazardous chemicals, weed trimmer and possibly tractor mowing equipment. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and climbing. Lifting requirements require frequent lifting up to 40 pounds. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate equipment. Periodic travel required in normal course of job performance.
